Millions of people suffer from cat allergies in the United States. I came across this video on you tube. I just found this amazing for so many reasons. They are genetically altered so that people who are normally allergic to cats can be around this one. After doing further research i found that these cats cost an insane amount of money. One standard domestic short hair cat is 6,000 dollars!!!

Although these kittens are too expensive for me this is the cutest kitten i've ever seen:

Tonight, I can not sleep. I have an ear infection thats making my brain throb. So ...... I decided to do some homework. Since the Rachael Ray Show comes on at 2:00 in the afternoon and not 2:00 in the morning, I decided to check out the website (rachaelrayshow.com) for the first time. Upon doing so, I decided that since I am a devoted blogger to Rachael Ray, why not join her fan club? hahahah. Club RR has exclusive content, promotions, recipes, discussions and more. It's easy, fun and free. How could I miss out on this?!?!?!?!

Anyway, the website shows a weekly calender of the shows that will be airing in the next week. I thought that was helpful to know which days will be more interesting then others to watch. It also has a list of all the recipes from past shows so you can make what you watch her make during her segment. Her website also has an archieve of past shows and topics. When I was going through them I realized that Rachael's Talk show is targeted towards middle aged women. Almost all of the topics included rearranging your closet, sprucing up your kitchen, sexy new wardrobe for winter, and alot of topics about beauty.

Hollywood Writer's Strike

The "Hollywood Writer's Strike" is a strike that started after a meeting with studio representatives failed to resolve a dispute over royalties. These pickets were set up in New York City and Los Angeles after The Writers Guild of America asked its 12,000 members to stop working. Basically, the writers are not happy about the amount of money they are not recieveing from DVD and other digital sales. The studios claim that their demands are unreasonable, which I personally think is bull. The shows that were immediately affected were "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "The Colbert Report," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Soon, if this strike continues, more shows and all of Hollywood will be affected. The last strike by screenwriters, in 1988, lasted a crippling 22 weeks!!!!!

My opinion is that the writers are the core of the program, if they are unhappy i think the studios should at least do whatever they can to meet them half way. If there are no writers for these shows we will soon be watching actors stare at each other dumbfounded.

I haven't been able to post in awhile because of a conflicting work schedule. But it is resolved so I will be able to post on a normal basis now.

Anyways ... lately while I have been watching the Rachael Ray show it has been occurring to me that the show revolves around food more then I thought it was going to. The beginning of the show is Rachael Ray in the kitchen preparing food that some how relates to the shows topic of the day or theme. One day the guest appearing on the show was one of the lead actors in Friday Night Lights a show that is aired on ABC that is a drama involving football. Before the actor came on she made buffalo chicken meatballs.

Once the guest comes on, they sit down at a dinner table for their discussion. I am guessing the main point the producers were trying to put across was that Rachael was having them over for dinner or that kind of welcoming feeling.

When i was watching the show today she was hosting kind of like a game show called "So you think you can cook!?" This is where viewers at home come on the show and prepare meals or dishes and compete. I thought this episode was more interesting then the others I have seen.

Rachael Ray is a television personality that is most widely known for her various cooking shows on The Food Network. She hosted 30 Minute Meals, Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels, $40 a Day, and Inside Dish. In late 2005 she signed a contract with Oprah Winfrey and King World Productions to host a syndicated daytime talk show. Upon doing research i found that King World Productions is the preeminent company in television syndication, distributing all Top Five and six of the Top Ten daily syndicated series, including the two highest-rated talk shows and two highest-rated game shows (Kingworld.com.) It also syndicates The Oprah Winfrey Show, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Dr. Phil, and Inside Edition. King World Productions is owned by CBS Broadcasting Inc.

Rachael Ray premiered on September 18,2006. To produce publicity for the show, she appeared on Oprah numerous times. I imagine that Oprah Winfrey funded the creation of this show much like she did with the infamous Dr. Phil Show. The concept behind her show is expected to focus on more than just her cooking skills and offer a lot of other topics, stories, and ideas, some what along the lines of Oprah Winfrey's show (Wikipedia.) Rachael Ray is quoted saying, "People know me for my love of food, but I have so much more I want to share."

Today was my first time watching Rachael's new talk show. I thought it was interesting in that it is different from the typical talk show. I like how she incorporates her cooking in to her show and I am excited to see how the ratings stand compared to the other talk shows.
